Port is a family man, married to Marshelle since 1991, with five children, and in 2020, a son-in-law and first grandchild. He is a passionate indigenous leader, born and raised in the East Bay. Port is a Church Planter and a Missional Catalyst. He is a first generation believer with fresh eyes assessing and assisting today’s church towards God’s mission. In 2006, he restarted a dying church in the city of San Pablo. Rock Harbor Christian Fellowship grew to be a multi-ethnic cross-generational congregation of nearly 100 people. Today, it is a Ministry Center housing three churches and outreaching to its community.
Port’s ministry experience has spanned work with the San Francisco Peninsula Baptist Association and East Bay Baptist Association (now together Bridges), the North American Mission Board, California Southern Baptist Convention planting Urban Churches throughout the Greater San Francisco Bay Area, and as a guest speaker/CLD facilitator for Gateway Seminary. Words that he lives by are Purpose, Passion, and Permission to accomplish all that God has set for him to do. He is a visionary and a true equipper of God's People with a Barnabus heart.
